My views on the death penalty are weird, I hope how I explain it makes sense.
Annually, it costs a great deal more to keep an inmate on death row than to keep them in life imprisonment, and there have been plenty of people who pleaded innocence until their last breath. The Texas Department of Justice keeps a record of the last words by executed prisoners (available online for viewing HERE) and many of them said they were innocent, and many of them were later found to be innocent. I think as soon as a first death was caused due to the justice system failing, capital punishment should have been abolished. Also, you have to remember that someone has to kill these people, and I think a job like that shouldn’t exist, as well as people willing to do the job shouldn’t exist. The whole thing is weird and unnecessary.
Public acts towards killers depends. I think if family members want the killers dead, they have every right to that opinion; I more than likely would be in that mindset if I was in that situation. I think the fangirls that instantly develop as soon as a new killer is known is disgusting, especially on social media sites where the victim’s friends/family can see. I think if someone finds a new killer attractive, because I know they can’t help sexual attractions, they should keep it to themselves out of respect. I usually have no opinion with people being happy when a killer is given justice and jailed for life, but to be outwardly supportive of their death is awful; like when America chanted “USA! USA!” when Osama was killed, and when people cheered outside Bundy’s execution. People are fucked up.
